Architect@work Opens Doors for Lathams

Added 12.17.18

James Latham, the country’s biggest independent distributor of panel and timber products, has announced it will be exhibiting for the first time at Architect@work UK in London.

The two-day event takes place on 30th and 31st January 2019 at the Truman Brewery in Shoreditch - an area which is home to more architects per square mile than anywhere else in the world.

It will see Lathams, (who will be on stand 51/T1) showcasing a collection of performance doors demonstrating a range of technical features and benefits as well as test certification that are suitable for multiple applications in numerous sectors including healthcare, educational, commercial and residential.

Steven Dennard, Group Door Manager, James Latham said, “The range of products we will be showing incorporate the most advanced and innovative door manufacturing processes available in the market.  These are highly technical door solutions that have been especially developed with an Architect & Designer audience and the specification market in mind.

“As well as different aesthetic finishes being applied to the faces such as thermoplastic for door encapsulation, fingerprint-less laminate and real wood veneers, they include a number of cutting-edge, technical features such as fire-rating, acoustic performance, enhanced security performance, Passivhaus certification combined with fire ratings, operating forces, mechanical strength and air permeability.”

The collection on show will include a 98mm thick, Moralt Passiv FireSafe glazed door (FD30), finished with a cross-grain, knotty Oak face; a 44mm Flamebreak door encapsulated with Kydex®, a fire-rated FD30 high performance, extremely durable, regulatory compliant thermoplastic sheet which is available in numerous colours; a Moralt 59mm FireSound high acoustic door with a Decospan real wood veneer;  a Moralt FireSmoke 54mm faced in MDF with 2mm thick AE Core woodgrain laminate flat-bonded onto the face; a Flamebreak Ply faced 54mm door, flat-bonded with Abet Polaris fingerprint-less laminate and a Halspan Prima 44mm door flat-bonded with Xylocleaf High Pressure Laminate

Mr Dennard added, “The A&D audience is an extremely important one for us and architect@work provides the perfect platform for us to showcase some of our latest innovations in performance doors. We are really looking forward to it, the show is just a week before the Surface Design Show where we will also be exhibiting, so it promises to be a busy start to the year for us.”
