 IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE

The Construction Products Directive (CPD) EN13986 relating to the use of wood based panel products became law effective from 1st April 2004.

Any wood based panel product used in a permanent construction within a building or civil works, whether used in a structural or non-structural application must be CPD compliant.  We have identified a wide range of products that meet the requirements of EN13986.

CE marking is the primary method of showing compliance with CPD and whilst CE marking is not compulsory within the UK, we have asked our suppliers to mark packs and boards wherever possible.  Our product descriptions and delivery notes will clearly state if a product meets CPD requirements.

Whilst we make every effort to ensure the quality and consistency of our products, we would like to remind you that timber is a natural product and is subject to colour and grain variation.  It is therefore important that panels are inspected prior to their processing to ensure suitability for the intended use.  This is particularly important where panels are delivered at customers request to third parties for processing.  Claims can only be considered if materials are returned in the same conditions as received.

Where paints, lacquers, varnishes and adhesives are used, please first ensure that they are compatible with the panels supplied.

Due to their hygroscopic nature, fire resistant panels should be stored and used only in dry conditions.

Sizes shown are nominal unless otherwise stated and are subject to normal trade tolerances.

Plywood bonded with interior glue (INT) or moisture resistant (MR) should be used for internal applications only.  Weather and boil proof (WBP) bonded panels are suitable for exterior applications, subject to adequate treatment by sealing or painting of the material and the following of manufacturers instructions.

Certain products with WBP glue lines may not be suitable for permanent external exposure and this is based on the quality of veneers used by the manufacturer.

MDF is available in moisture resistant and exterior grade and manufacturers recommendations should be followed.

Specifications relating to flame retardancy have been changed to reflect the European Norms.

Grading is in line with that applicable to the country of manufacture.  We have also developed specific grades to suit our customers' requirements.
